Our children and young people develop and grow — and so does our Ready Steady Go provision ![]()
We have proudly launched The Pod, our new sessions for young adults aged 16–24, made possible through a Welsh Government Equality and Inclusion Grant.
The Pod is about creating a welcoming, inclusive space where young neurodiverse adults can connect, build confidence, develop independence and have their voices heard.
At its heart, the project is about listening to young adults and supporting them to shape the provision they want and need.
Together, we are creating opportunities to:
Build meaningful friendships and social connections
Develop independent living and everyday life skills
Grow confidence and self-advocacy
Explore volunteering and work placement opportunities
Develop travel skills and confidence within the community
Discover local businesses, cafés and community spaces
Explore social enterprise and new opportunities
Have fun, make connections and, most importantly, belong
Our Ready Steady Go HQ provides a starting point — but The Pod is not about staying within four walls.
Over the first couple of sessions, we have focused on getting to know one another, building relationships, sharing skills and enjoying some very important cooked breakfasts! ![]()

From here, we’ll be heading out into our local community — exploring, shopping, visiting cafés, developing travel training, discovering opportunities and building the skills and confidence that support greater independence.
And this is just the beginning.
The Pod is being designed by Ready Steady Go, but it is being shaped by the young adults themselves.
We want to listen to what they want to achieve, understand what matters to them, advocate alongside them and create opportunities that reflect their ambitions — not simply what others think they should have.
Our initial funding takes us through to the end of 2026. Following such a positive launch, and with encouraging feedback from our young adults and their families, we are committed to exploring how we can build on this foundation and develop a sustainable adult provision.
Because advocacy isn’t just about speaking for people.
It’s about listening, creating opportunities to be heard, and supporting people to use their own voices.
The Pod is a community where young adults can grow, develop, connect, contribute and shape what comes next.
And we can’t wait to see where they take it ![]()
This is The Pod. And this is only the beginning.
